A Natural Drama Films Presents A Penguin's Flight production  Starring: Mahathi Dhruvo, Nathaniel Castellanos, and Dyanna Cunningham Music by Nathaniel Castellanos Written by Dyanna Cunningham Edited by Mahathi Dhruvo Story by Nathaniel Castellanos, Dyanna Cunnungham, and Mahathi Dhruvo  The reason why we as team decided to name our opening film two peas in a pod is because we wanted a drama friendship story that involves a friend group were two members of the group have a deeper bond with each other rather than the third member of the group who is left out. The reasoning for the story is because we wanted to be unique and make a story that the audience would be interested in. In the beginning. we wanted to do a short horror opening but ultimately decided on the drama due to having to film at night and needing a very quiet space for the film, The drama would allow us to film during the daytime and would allow us to need background noises to make the opening film s...

Evaluation of Peer Reviews

1.)  What specific technical elements of the film opening did you dislike? I disliked the speed of the zoom at 0:56. If done slower, it would've added a more sentimental moment to the scene. Instead, it felt hurried and insignificant. Also, I'm not a fan of the transitions used to cut in between scenes. They feel immature and oddly placed. Something like a match cut or whip pan may work better for this scenario. This was originally written by Angela, and my response is that I agree with her response. This is mostly because our recording was somewhat rushed and it made the first cut look like Angela said " Immature and oddly spaced." Another thing is that the zoom was also rushed and it could have been taken more seriously due to us adding it last minute, Thankfully all of these problems were resolved in our final version of the opening film. 2.) Now for the things I dislike... I would say there are slight errors throughout this opening. Starting off, the transitions a...

Editing 2

Image
This week Both Dyanna and Mahathi had to work together in order to finish editing in time. Although it seemed hard and lengthy, Dyanna said that the work was fairly easy and smooth to finish because Mahathi would also help her out while working on the editing. Their team work would allow us to have just little things to fix in the editing. For example the little things would be fixing the tone of the lighting, lowering the volume of the background and either raising or lowering the volume of the music. All the effects, title font, and sound effects stayed the same like previously stated in the 1st Editing blog. For example, A sound effect that we have discussed is a sound effect that emphasizes the feeling of shock into someone; this conversation made it through the whole process of editing. The amount of time that was spent editing was during the entirety of the class period and sometimes it was done as homework if they had free time to work.   ...

What specific technical elements of the film opening did you like? *      I like the low key lighting of the entire video because it sets up the mysterious and sort of fearful tone of this piano player getting attacked by a threat in his car. Another thing that I liked is the camera angles for the piano. This included a close up shot of the strings, this gives a feeling of musicality and wonder as the main person we focus on is playing the instrument. The next angles that I like is a upwards tilt towards the characters face, because it show us how this person dresses as he plays the piano, and it shows how professional he is with his hobby. The next shot that I liked is the pan from our character to the mysterious and dangerous threat that is looming In the back of the car. This scene would then transition into a drone-shot of the car as it slowly pulls back the shot, this is done so that the audience could have another feeling of mystery because we are left on a cliff ha...
