1.) What specific technical elements of the film opening did you dislike?

I disliked the speed of the zoom at 0:56. If done slower, it would've added a more sentimental moment to the scene. Instead, it felt hurried and insignificant. Also, I'm not a fan of the transitions used to cut in between scenes. They feel immature and oddly placed. Something like a match cut or whip pan may work better for this scenario.

This was originally written by Angela, and my response is that I agree with her response. This is mostly because our recording was somewhat rushed and it made the first cut look like Angela said " Immature and oddly spaced." Another thing is that the zoom was also rushed and it could have been taken more seriously due to us adding it last minute, Thankfully all of these problems were resolved in our final version of the opening film.

2.) Now for the things I dislike... I would say there are slight errors throughout this opening. Starting off, the transitions at the start are very jarring and ruin the immersion. Also, throughout the opening the aspect ratio flops between a normal widescreen to a phone like resolution. Finally, the dialogue at the start sticks to the same camera angle which can be a little boring after a while, but that is helped by the good dialogue

The Written review was made by John Roells and I honestly appreciate the review he wrote for my teams video. The main thing is his review on our Camera angels and the resolution of our film, the reason why it ended up looking the way it did was because we didn't know how to fully film on the phone camera and it ended up looking like a mess. Thankfully we became more skilled with the camera and our finished product looks better and hopefully satisfies John's concerns.

3.) There is many issues with this opening film. The changes in aspect ratio was very messy. It goes from a skinny rectangle to full screen then back. Another issue is the transition. These transitions are not proper for movies and ruins the emersion. My final issue is that during their dialogue at the beginning, there is was no transitions or change in angle. The dialogue was pretty long and we just saw it from one angle. It loses our attention to both the dialogue and the film.

This was written by Joshua and his concerns was mostly about the transitions and the aspect ratio. Like the previously written statement, we have fixed the problem with the transitions and the camera angle but I like that he mentioned the dialogue because we honestly felt like it was good. Thanks to Joshua's comment about the dialogue, we as a team will find a solution to better patch up the dialogue.

4.) For this film, I felt that the acting was amazing. The "duo within the trio" feeling was well-captured by the dialogue, where the two friends were talking about their plans in front of their third friend, who they excluded with the excuse they assumed he has no time to go. The close-up shots of the hurt expression on the third friend's face also added to this storyline. I felt that it looks like a true movie opener and I would want to watch it in theater. I really liked how the third friend/actor was whispering in a way the audience couldn't make out what he was saying, inciting the audience's curiosity. However, I truly believe there should have been music and editing to make the sound of the doors quieter.

This statement by Yasmine on her blog post was mostly positive about the video that we had created but the last sentence of her statement had a concern that said there was a lack of music and editing to make the doors sound more quite. My response is that we have discussed about the music because we didn't put any music for that time but the main thing was the editing to allow the audience to hear us better and I agree, we could have done a better job with cutting out any unnecessary noise. Thankfully we are working on that specific problem currently and hopefully it will improve our opening video.

5.) - An element in the film opening that I dislike was at the beginning of it where they show the front of the school for their establishing shot. I feel like this could have been left out and did not need to be included as part of the scene, it does not really make sense as it does not relate to anything, so it left me confused. They can maybe change it with an establishing shot of the media center.

This was written by Elizabeth on her blog post, her concern about our opening video was that our establishing shot didn't make sense for the plot of the story. On the contrary we believed that the establishing shot of the school would help the story move forward because it allows the audience to realize that its a situation that is happening among young adults and that the potential rumor could spread across the public school and potentially have consequences to the main characters. I really do appreciate her commenting on our video and about the positive aspects of the film.
